This Shanghai office transforms workplace design into a harmonious, urban-inspired layout modeled after a Renaissance “ideal town.” A grid of “roads” in polished concrete flooring organizes flexible work “quarters,” while metal-clad service towers at intersections house coffee, tea, and recycling stations. A central open “piazza” features a movable wooden countertop and wheeled theater-style staircase for both formal and informal gatherings. Materials are pared back—drywall partitions, exposed structural elements, and indirect perforated-steel lighting—all fostering a sustainable, employee-centric environment.
