Potent

Potent is a 600sqm techno club in the heart of Shanghai’s Huaihai TX lifestyle mall. The design blends references from different clubbing eras with a forward-looking spatial approach, using materiality and light to shape two distinct environments: the luminous, immersive Light Room, with curved acrylic-clad walls, a monumental concrete bar, and a sculptural steel disco-ball; and the raw, intimate Dark Room, where steel, vinyl, and exposed structure create a stark, atmospheric contrast. Together, the spaces offer a layered sensory journey, celebrating music as a catalyst for social connection and urban vitality.
